Leave a Note was created to raise awareness of mental health using the power of music. Sadly, it isn’t always that easy…
On this page, you’ll find some alternatives to help you find the help you might need and deserve.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help
The first step is one of the hardest. If you ever need help then it’s vital that you ask. This website is designed to provide you with some information on where you can find it.
Sometimes it can help to look into other people’s struggles as it might provide some context. See the hashtag #ItsOKtoNotBeOK
Know that there are people who can help
There are many different contacts if you feel you might be struggling with mental health, such as the Samaritans or the NHS.

If you feel as though you are struggling and you need help then it would be beneficial to get in touch with one of these services.
Visit the Samaritans website or call their free 24 hour helpline on 116 123.
The NHS have a wide variety of resources on their website, including an interactive quiz to help you get the right advice which can be found here.
Speak with a therapist
This can sound daunting at first, however the important thing to remember is that these are people who are specially trained to help.
They want to help you and can help you figure out the next important steps if need be.
Some websites, such as Better Help, provide a quick and easy online chat service where you can talk to someone almost immediately, and uses a sophisticated quiz to help accommodate you to the right therapist.
Contact your GP
Most mental health services are free, provided by the NHS. However, you may have to be referred by your GP in some cases.
Don’t be afraid to get in touch with your GP if you are concerned that you may be developing a mental health problem.
If you are in danger, or distress then you can visit your local A&E.
Know that you are not alone
One of the hardest parts about dealing with mental health is wondering if you are alone.
You are not. Every day, more and more people are diagnosed with mental illness.
This is why services such as the NHS and the Samaritans are around, because of the increasingly large number of people who sadly suffer.
Don’t suffer in silence, speak out and get in touch with people who can help you such as friends, family or one of the previously mentioned services.
